I thought this one was sad because the girl thought she was at the party because she was her friend but she was really there to help and be a maid like her mom.

In the end, Rosaura thinks that she was an invited guest to the party.
But she realizes that she is actually just a paid helping hand.

In my opinion, this story appears to revolve around a fundamental misunderstanding as to the role of the protagonist. She is under the impression that she is considered an equal by the girl's mother, and and therefore by the upper class in general, only to be rudely awakened upon discovering that she is in fact considered to be akin to her mother rather than her friend, Senora Ines' daughter.

This story was one sad one. I feel sorry for Rosaura. Senora Ines seemed nice, but she wasn't that kind in the end.
