Koki, I'm pretty tired of you saying you are going to fail this class. You and I both know you've been doing very well! You are not stupid at all. This is a hard course, and I want to remind everyone that what we are doing now is like a warm-up for things you will do much more of in 8th and 9th grade. I do not expect you do it perfectly the first time you try.
The "Why Write" piece is meant to be "low stake." Take advantage of the freedom and write whatever you want to answer that question. Like I said in class, I'm looking for you to write a two page piece that show me you put some thought into it, tried to revise your work, and carefully proofread before you turned it in. It's a pass or fail kind of assignment that is not worth as many points as an essay we have spent several weeks on it. So, no more freaking out about it!!
