Antonio Marez, the protagonist in Rudolfo Anaya’s classic novel Bless Me, Ultima, goes through a transition from innocence to knowledge and experience that will shape his character for his later years of life. “He will be a man of learning,” Ultima had stated. Knowledge will be his power.
