... random assignments that don't have much relevance to the class work we are currently doing?
Khalil, can you actually specify what assignments these are? And exactly how are they "random"? I don't think you'll be able to do that, but try anyway? I'd be interested in reading your further amplification on this... provocative topic. ;p
... Also why do we have so many journal questions? (it seems kind of pointless to do this)
It's not pointless, if you think about it. After all, the class isn't called "Learning HTML/CSS and Web Design" ... it's called "The Internet Classroom" for a reason, which is plainly articulated in its course description. Since this was your first choice course, clearly you DID read the description, yes?
Oh and yes, as Kass said... as far as ATDP classes go, TIC is among the "easiest" when it comes to homework. (I suppose you wouldn't know this since this is your first time at ATDP—welcome! And I hope you keep returning for future summers... just be aware that if or when you take more 'rigorous' academic courses, you won't be having nearly as much fun as in TIC. heh.)
Oh, and didn't you consider that it might just be a tad insulting to your instructors that you deem their assignments irrelevant? Think twice before posting, like you do before speaking. (Or, at least, I hope that's what you do with your verbal/oral communications ::chuckle::)
Good thing you brought up that question, though... others in the class may well be thinking that also, but didn't have the cheek to mention it. ;p Honesty and a critical faculty are good... just be prepared to back up what you say with rigorous logic, and unimpeachable facts. (Politeness in communication is also desirable; this aspect is kinda under-appreciated, when it comes to online communications nowadays.)
