CSS Part II: External stylesheets, block vs inline, box model, IDs and classes

CSS "About Google" Exercise

Have a look at this picture: about-google.png.

In this exercise, I will be giving you the HTML file that I produced to develop that picture there. Your job is to create an external CSS stylesheet to go with that HTML page. You may NOT change anything in the HTML file and we will use our own HTML file when checking your stylesheets to make sure of this. Don't forget to link to this exercise on your class log.

HTML file

Journal

Imagine a world without the internet. How would your life be different? What aspects of your life would be worse without the internet? How might your life actually be better off without it? How many of your friends use the internet on a daily basis? Do you know people your age who still don't use computers at all?

Homework

  • Update index with today's entry, which should have links to your table (calendar exercise) and css (about google exercise) work!

  • Continue reading about CSS in chapter 16: pp. 288-293 and Ch 17 pp. 297-306.

Box model... pay attention guys, you're in deep water now

Who? What does it matter? Or…do you need a name to describe me? A definition by words is merely a means to deceive oneself. It's meaningless before the truth. What matters is how you perceive things. The slightest shift, then life and death no longer have any meaning

Good way to help the students with this exercise is to do it yourself so you have something to refer to :O

Doesn't take that long XD

Whoever said "life is not a rose garden" got problems. Life IS a rose garden. There are the roses, then there are the thorns. :D

The book is your friend, kiddies. :P

Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

Yes, I am female. Which means no, I am not male.
