I have yet to see this film, but Lloyd found it interesting enough to plan on seeing it again with me on this coming Wednesday after the PM class. The film will start at 5:15 PM at the California Theatre (very close to campus) and I encourage any TA's/students to come and join us. Extra credit for those who come since it's an educational film!! If you come and watch the movie, then write a journal about what you thought about it after it will count as an extra 2 journal questions towards your final grade.

Actually, Wednesday would be the THIRD time I'll have seen the film. ::chuckle:: I have a lot to learn from Al Gore's style of teaching/preaching, but mostly from the passion with which he holds his beliefs on global warming.

It's a very moving story, a truly timely one, and I encourage everyone in TIC to see it. If not on Wednesday, then sometime else this summer. Every other movie pales in comparison and context. An Inconvenient Truth goes far, far beyond just moviemaking. It's about your future on this planet, kids.

I love Johnny Depp and all, but Al Gore the prophet (not the politican) is my hero. Swashbuckling pirates can wait. ;-)

Come on... All those search techniques we went over in class and you can't even find out the length of a big time movie playing in theatres right now??

It's an hour and 40 minutes long... but it goes by rather quickly. Surprising, for a movie in which large portions are of Gore's actual slideshows (which are done using Apple's marvelous Keynote presentation software).

Seriously, she doesn't get anything I do here, she can barely work a computer herself, and yet...she's getting her own MacBook for college. ;~;

"That global warming stuff" = your future. You're not into it? ;p We ignore this issue now, at our peril.

I'll go, but what's the plan for tickets and stuff?

No plan for pre-purchasing, since it's not, uh... Pirates of the Caribbean 2. ;p So, we'll get tix at the theater when we get there.

There will most assuredly NOT be a mob lining up for this movie at 5 p.m. tomorrow, largely because it has been out for weeks already. More than a month, even? Glad it's still showing, though.

As for the money, you can pluck them from this Money Tree at the corner of Oxford and Center. It's right behind that odd globular sculpture just at the entrance of campus; and this is on our way to the theater. ;p Here's that sculpture, with Pono in it:

And you didn't know there are money trees? Tsk. Here:
