...and I don't think anyone who knows me would doubt my ice cream knowledge- ask Lloyd about my healthy ice cream/sherbert/guri-guri habits while I stayed with him in Hawai'i 6 months ago.

Btw, had half a pint of Haagen-Dazs Light Mint Chip and half a pint of Haagen-Dazs regular Dulce de Leche about 2 hours ago. MmmmmHmmmm... good stuff.

Let me please reiterate my previous statement, as it's way down at the bottom of the last page and might not get the exposure it deserves:

For the record, when it comes to local ice cream, I'd take Double Rainbow over Mitchell's ANYDAY.

Of course the thing about Mitchell's is it has these fun and unique flavours, that no one else has (certainly DR doesn't). So, it's still kinda like comparing apples and oranges. Gelato is sort of like that too, since gelateria tend to have a diverse variety of flavours. I think Ciao Bello takes the cake in terms of uniqueness of its gelato offerings, among gelateria.

Guri-guri. Mmmmmm. (Oddly, Tasaka's on Maui has had only two flavours of it ever -- pineapple and strawberry guava.)

Today was the sort of overly warm day in Berkeley that made me wish I was in Trev's neighborhood so I could saunter over to Mitchell's for an ube ice cream.

It looks like ciaobella has only a few good flavors whereas mitchells everything is good.

^^^ Yeah.

Mitchell's has some interesting and unique flavours, but Double Rainbow's ice cream itself tastes better.
