Friday evening dinner outing at La Mission

A number of us are BARTing back to San Francisco with Trev after TIC (PM) this Friday. Purpose? Food. To eat of the wondrous tacos and burritos in the heart of the Mission District (near Trev's home), and then to have ice cream at the equally fabulous Mitchell's somewhereabouts in the Noe Valley district.

So far, group is: Kass, Spark, Nick, Trev, me... anyone else (with parental permission) is welcome to come! If you haven't been in or around the SF's Mission District before, on foot, this would make for an interesting trip, I think.

We'll probably be back in the East Bay around 9, same as when we watched Dead Man's Chest in d.town Berkeley last Friday.

Expense? BART fare (about $6 rt from Berkeley), dinner ($6 for a burrito and drink, Trev?), ice cream ($4 or so).

Raid and I wanted to plan an excursion to the place where we get our...fuel. *coughcoughgelato-on-shattuckcoughcough* Well, this sounds fun too, even though I'm not crazy about Mex food.

If you're coming with us this afternoon after TIC, please tell Trev and/or me, so we can at least keep in mind an informal 'responsible-for-so-and-so-kid' list! :-) Also, feel free to give your parent/s my cellphone #. Ask me for it, when you see me in class.

Indeed! That's why I suggested it in the first place. Also, it has all these "filipino" flavors, like ube (purple yam), langka (jackfruit), macapuno (young coconut), etc. I go there every chance I get. Lucky Trev lives near this San Francisco treasure.

We should go there again sometime before the summer is over... perhaps a Saturday get-together after ATDP/TIC is over, sometime in August? Before all you h.s. grads (YiYi, Alex) fly off to the far horizons and the college kids go back to school. I suggest a walking trip through the Mission, looking at and taking pictures of the fantastic murals in various alleys.

And we'll eat somewhere other than La Corneta, which met with Trev's seething derision, because of the C+ meat on his burrito. ::chuckle::

The burrito as a whole was a C- at best, L. The meat (which received a generous D-) tasted so bad it ruined the entire super burrito for me, not to mention it totaled $8 bucks due to extras and a minimal tip. My apologies for naming that spot as one of the possible nearby taquerias to visit.

Glad you all liked the ice cream though- Lloyd is obsessed with Mitchell's. lol.
