Hmm. File-sharing sounds like it would make a good topic, but maybe you could do a client that's more popular these days, or at least has the potential to become popular in the future? I'm thinking BitTorrent, Soulseek, DC++, etc.

We considered putting filesharing on the list, but eventually ruled it out, due to the fact that most (all?) filesharing requires you to download some kind of client first. The web service you choose should to be useable through the web browser, with no additional software.

Now, if Audiogalaxy was still going, that would count. But alas. :P I've never even heard of Soulseek and DC++. >_>;

Really? I heard that many former Audiogalaxy users migrated to Soulseek after it was shut down. It's what I use, primarily. And DC++ uses the Direct Connect network, which seems to be gaining in popularity.
