This Friday marks the half-way point of the ATDP program! How time flies, eh? In celebration (groan), Trev and I will be doing a comprehensive midterm evaluation of all your guys' progress this weekend. So if you intended to catch up on all your work so far (write class logs and link them, validate, etc.), between now and Friday would be the time to do it.

Journal Questions
If you have a MySpace... what made you start one? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? If it were up to you, what would you do to improve the service?
If you don't have a MySpace, why don't you? What don't you like about it? Don't you feel left out if a lot of your friends have MySpaces?
Does it matter to you that MySpaces don't (and can't) adhere to web standards? (Duh?)
(If you've got a MySpace, why haven't you friended me yet? ;-) )

Homework
Check out this article, again, on MySpace: MySpace or OurSpace? (you'll have to watch the ad before you'll be allowed to read the entire thing.) Write a response to this article (just a paragraph or two) on a webpage and link it to your class log.
Some questions you might consider: What do you think about the events that occurred in the article? Do you think MySpace is a reasonable place for police and/or school personnel to be looking for suspicious activity, whether they use their real identities or not? Do you ever post things to your own MySpace that you wouldn't want others to see?
Movie outing!
Pirates of the Caribbean will be coming out this Friday! To celebrate, we'll be forming an official party of movie-goers to see it at the nearest theater in Berkeley, UA Berkeley 7. All students are welcome to join up. :)
Due to the existence of two classes, our trip will take place AFTER the second class... the target showing being 5:45 PM. AM students are welcome to join us for it, but I'll be making a forum thread for AM students to organize their own get together for watching the film right after their class, in case none of you want to stay in Berkeley for quite so long.
Since it'll be opening day, Kass will be buying tickets in advance, via Fandango. If you are interested in buying in early, let her know before Friday and bring her the money before we head off to the theater. You are, of course, welcome to try your luck at the box office. Hope to see you all there!
