In the past I have hooked up a 386 to my own board and controlled various motors with the 386 pc. However, my ambition is to have complete control over the 386, which is to say I want to learn how the operating system works on a 386, or 486, or pentium. It doesn't seem like many programers have the ambition to really know what is going on inside a computer, and for this reason there is not too much literature available on this subject. Does anybody know of literature, or an online course or tutor which would provide this type of information.
