Final Project, Test, Parents Drop-in

This Thursday is our last day of class - an interesting six weeks is drawing to a close.

In groups, everyone is working on the final project to make a robot imitate the behavior of one of the animals Mr. Curley listed on the whiteboard. In addition to the robot, bring a poster to class on Thursday. The poster should contain a picture of the real animal, an image or engineering drawing of the robot, and a list of five similarities and differences between the robot and the animal it is supposed to imitate. You will be given another hour at the beginning of class to put any final touches on the robot.

During the second hour there will be a test on today's lecture topics (e.g. Simple Machines, Work, Power). And after the test, your parents are invited to drop by the classroom to get a chance to see what robots you've been working on in the past six weeks.

Wall Robot, Class Pictures

The assignment for Thursday is to create a wall robot that can follow the curvature of a wall, hugging along the side of the wall and turning the way the wall turns. Turn in an english translation of the code along with the robot.

We'll try for the class pictures again this Thursday. :)

Motors and Steering Worksheet, Test

The homework due tomorrow is the motors and steering worksheet. If you don't have a copy of it, you can download it from the Files section.

Secondly, there is a test on this material tomorrow. Continue to use the forums to ask any questions you have as I see some people have already begun too. :)

Virtual ATDP Yearbook

Ok, let's try again for tomorrow, Thursday, 7/14. If anyone has a digital camera, please bring it to class tomorrow so that we can take a class picture. If no one has one, I'll try to borrow one from ATDP.

Virtual Yearbook Pictures

Ok, so by now everyone should have turned in their permission forms for the yearbook pictures. I'm thinking about taking the picture next Thursday, 7/7. Will that work for everybody?

And does anyone in the class have a digital camera that I can borrow for the picture? If so, please bring it to class on Thursday.

Thanks!

No Class

There will be no class on July 4th. Make up class has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 12th. (In the afternoon, I'm guessing). Alas, I won't be there on the makeup day. I'll be in a room directly above you guys. :)
