INTRODUCTION

I finally settled on the project of exploring the MySpace phenomenon. Since Myspace seems to be ever growing in its permeation of popular culture, I took an interest in finding out who, how, and why people use it. I will focus on these diverse categories of MySpace users to fully grasp the MySpace community: celebrity fan sites, television/anime characters, television fan sites, music/band websites, comedians, religious figures, teachers, parents, animals, friends, and sports stars. The one sector of the MySpace population that I will not be looking into is the adult entertainment industry, as that is not appropriate for the ATDP audience and I can easily infer information from other appropriate parallels. I have been trying to search and friend as many people as possible so that I can message them surveys.
