I think that for many people, the world of young, black boys and teens is a bit of a mythical place that they would love to know more about. I figured I may as well help people along in furthering their understanding to hopefully result in less stereotypes toward the community of black boys. For my ethnography, I studied how hip-hop music affects the choices of black middle school boys. I decided to study this because I thought it was interesting and I thought that it was a topic that people would want to know about but they didn’t want to ask. I hope that through my studies, some of those questions are answered. I went about researching my topic by interviewing four middle school aged black boys about three choices I thought hip-hop music may affect; women/girls, school, and clothes. Here it is.
